Who do you think we are?
All blogging gurus advice to start with a welcome post: some sort of introduction and stating the great mission. Somehow we didn’t do it from the very beginning as we were not so sure what we are blogging about.
We are two friends from Kharkiv and Kyiv who got sick and tired replying the same questions from our foreign friends: Do I need to bring toilet paper to Ukraine? Is there bed linen on the trains to Kyiv? Is it true that Ukrainians eat raw pig fat without bread? (Shocking, right? We know!) Are there bears on the streets? (of course, not – Street bears are strictly Moscow exclusive!).
So, we decided to offer some helpful piece of advice online, invite others to join and contribute to the collective conscious and also provide with tips and recommendations on Ukrainian life in the blog section. Being independent travelers ourselves we understand and appreciate value of first-hand information about places. Our modest mission is dispelling factoids about Ukraine, clarifying information, sharing inspiration and trying to be as helpful as possible… Ukrainian-wise.
Who we are:
Victoria Yegorenkova lives in Kharkiv, studies quite dead Asian languages, works as a translator and has unhealthy interest in museums and fine arts (especially Dutch Golden Age and Bauhaus), traveled to Poland, Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and UK. Nickname on the site – museumgeek.
Yaroslav Hordiyevych lives in Kyiv and works in PR, traveled to USA, Canada, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Nepal. Nickname on the site – editor.
After this introduction we are not branch of “Blogger Anonymous” anymore, so you know who is responsible for the stuff you read in the blog or anywhere else on this site.
Just a quick tour on our roundabouts: here we answer your questions, this is the place for foreigner-fellows stories, and here we share our thoughts and observations about traveling to and around Ukraine. You might find it easier to hit tags on the right side bar. Our Facebook page and twitter account are not duplicating information from the site, so please consider following us.
Stay tuned!
